EMDR Therapy

Healing trauma and distress without reliving the past

What Is EMDR?

EMDR is a therapy approach designed to help the brain reprocess distressing memories so they no longer feel overwhelming in the present. When trauma or chronic stress occurs, the brain’s natural processing system can become disrupted, leaving memories stored in a way that keeps the nervous system on high alert.

EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements, tapping, or sounds) to support the brain’s natural ability to integrate experiences. Over time, memories lose their emotional intensity, and new, more adaptive beliefs can take their place.

EMDR doesn’t erase memories, it helps change how they’re held in the body and mind.

What Can EMDR Help With?

EMDR is commonly used to support people experiencing:

  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Anxiety and panic
  • Distressing memories or intrusive thoughts
  • Childhood trauma or attachment wounds
  • Phobias or strong emotional triggers
  • Negative self-beliefs rooted in past experiences
